01 / OCTOBER 2026A SHORT NOTE · ABOUT MAKING THINGS

Why this
place exists.

Not every project needs a business case. Not every experiment needs to become a product. There's something enjoyable about making room for both.

01 / THE PRACTICAL SIDE

There are problems
worth solving.

Sometimes I find myself looking at a workflow, a dashboard or some small everyday frustration and thinking: surely there is a better way to do this.

That curiosity can lead to data, automation or a simpler interface. The objective isn't to make a clever-looking system. It's to make something easier to understand, easier to use, or less irritating than it was yesterday.

The satisfying part is rarely the complicated technology in the middle. It's the moment the result starts to feel obvious.

Good ideas aren't always serious. Serious problems don't always need complicated solutions.
02 / THE UNNECESSARY SIDE

And there are things
worth making anyway.

Other ideas begin with no problem at all. You see a fun animation, wonder what a button would feel like with a little personality, or have a ridiculous idea for a browser game.

Those experiments are useful in their own way. A tiny game makes you think about feedback, difficulty, timing, clarity and how an interaction feels to someone else. And sometimes the only success criterion is that it makes somebody smile.

03 / THE MEDIUM

A good place
to try things.

The web gives those interests a natural home. A diagram can explain a difficult concept. A little prototype can make an abstract idea tangible. A browser game can ask someone to play instead of reading another paragraph.

I like that you can move between all of those things without much ceremony. Explore something technical, find a strange experiment, discover that it has a dog and a cat as supporting characters, and perhaps wander into another idea entirely.

04 / THE OPEN ENDING

Not a finished
collection.

I don't want this to be a wall of polished case studies pretending every idea was planned from the beginning. Some projects will keep evolving. Some experiments may be wonderfully silly. Others might go nowhere.

The point is to give them somewhere to exist. A small place to make, test, share and refine things. If you arrived here just to spend a few minutes avoiding imaginary emails in a game, that's a perfectly good reason to visit.
